WHAT I WISH I KNEW AT 15! FEATURING ELODIE ZONE

3rd December 2021

Popular YouTuber and OG SKY Big sis, Elodie Zone is a star! Lakini like all stars, it’s been a journey to get to where she is and she has learned a lot of lessons along the way. We wanted to get some gems from her so we asked her what advice she would give her 15-year-old self and this is what she said:

Creativity

Hey little El, I have to be totally honest with you. Deep down you already know what your thing is. Between filming videos and writing music, every time you do either, you have a huge smile on your face, and any sadness you have goes away immediately.  It doesn’t matter what anyone says about your creative side, if you enjoy it, practice as often as you can. Doing this will help you become the best version of yourself when you’re older. I promise!

School

I know, I know, I know… You hate exams and get super scared about grades. School can be kinda stressful- however, I need you to train your mind to be positive no matter what the result is. Staying positive and open-minded in class is the key to going far. Trust me!

Friends

You are halfway through your teens and a lot of friends have come and gone. The reason this happens is because you’re growing up and as you grow, you change. El, the important thing is to make sure that no matter who you hang out with, they’re kind to you, they motivate you, and they support you. Such friends will teach you a lot about yourself and how to also be a good friend back. Ohh yeah, and please avoid the girls that gossip. They’re super toxic and I know you want to live a happy life.

Fashion

Fashion is your thing girl! You literally pick the clothes that you’re going to wear the night before because you’re too excited lol! Always remember to stay true to yourself and your style. If you love something, rock it! You’re a limited edition and no one can do you, like YOU!

Failure

Remember what mom always used to say? “…there’s no such thing as a failure. Only a lesson.” When something doesn’t work out, it’s because there’s a lesson you have to learn in order for you to get an even BIGGER success than what you had planned. Trust yourself, you got this! <3

Boys:

Ooo, boys! Can’t live with them, can’t live without them. El, it’s okay to have a crush and if you go through a breakup, it’s okay to cry. The key thing is, you must always remember to avoid boys that hurt your feelings or make you feel uncomfortable. Self-respect and values must ALWAYS be a priority.

Peer Pressure

Being forced to do something that you don’t like is never fun and you don't have time for that kind of drama when you're focusing on achieving your dreams. If any of your friends are acting like that, drop them!

The Future

You are going to become everything that you’ve ever wanted to be… you know why? Because you have hope. Even when nothing around is working out, reminding yourself daily that “things will get better” is actually how things get better. Trust yourself, talk to your parents when you need support, spend every day laughing with your friends, and when you’re alone stay focused on what’s important. I believe in you more than you’ll ever know <3 Big hug!
