SKY GUY: BRIAN FURAHA!

We chatted up SKY Guy and PAA Star, Brian! We talked all about the show, how he got into acting and who his on-set crush was 😍

 

Sasa! We loved you as Brian on PAA. Ebu tell us more about yourself?

Si ati kuna much mystery to Brian Furaha, (and yes, I happen to share the same name as the character I play on the show 😂) other than the fact that I truly enjoy acting!

Pia, I am a sprinter in training specifically the 100m and 200m races! I have always had a competitive drive and competing in these events is an amazing way to channel that.

 

So you act and run…very cool! Unaweza tell us something embarrassing about yourself?

Hehe 😂 Well…I can't dance to save my life. I have three left feet and all three feet insist on moving in the wrong direction. The worst thing u can do to me is put me on a stage and ask me to bust a move. Nitafanya, but it'll be quite painful to watch😂😂😂

 

Kulikuwa na pressures that you had to deal with as a teenager?

I’d say the biggest pressure I faced as a teen was the pressure to fit in. I’m not sure if peer pressure is the word for it but, kuliwa na hii feeling that for one to have a fun-filled high school life you had to be able to have certain things, attend certain events, have a certain amount of money etc.

Lakini I realized that I don’t have to fit in to enjoy life in high school, for as long as I did what I loved (at the time for me it was sports) I’d always be happy .

 

Very true. Back to the show…ebu tushow, did you have a crush on anyone on set?😏

😳😂I actually didn't have a crush on anyone on set although ilikuwa interesting working with the girls cause they are all great actresses. Wote wako unique in their own way so I’d be happy to get to work with any one or all of them again in the future.

 

Na have you always wanted to be an actor? What drew you to it?

I actually came to realize that I want to be an actor when covid hit. Nilikuwa na time to try new things during that period like modelling and photography, but when I tried acting, nilijua I’d found what I love. I remember how scared I was at my first audition and if I compare it to where I am now, I’d say I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far.

 

What was your biggest challenge about taking this role?

Niliiwekea pressure to deliver as Brian in PAA, but I learned how to enjoy the process and it’s an experience I will not forget. 

 

Be honest, on the show are you Team Talia, Team Lydia or Team Neema? Tell us why—but bila spoilers😅

Knowing the story behind the three characters, I actually root for all three. Nina-understand each of them. Lakini if I really had to make a choice, ningekuwa Team Lydia all day everyday (Hopefully Neema won't kill me for this😭)

 

Finally, what does being true to yourself mean to you?

For me, ni kujua who you are, accepting that and making effort to better those aspects that you might not like about yourself. Also, never letting anyone else make you change yourself just to impress or fit in. Lazima tujipende!

 

And the SKY sistahood loves you too! Any words of encouragement for us SKY girls?

I’d say to you keep going, your effort ita-pay off. And don’t forget to have fun!
