THINGS I WISH MY 15-YEAR-OLD SELF KNEW!

21st June 2022

Stephanie Muchiiri is an actress, commercial model and psychology student. She is also the lead actress in our fire series, “PAA: Born to fly!” As a person who is winning in life and a SKY big sis, we wanted to learn from her, so we asked her to go back in time and give some advice to the 15-year-old version of herself. Alitubless. Here’s what she said…

On creativity

We both know your love for the arts has always been there! Music has always been your safe space, and films have taught you a more interesting way to look at life! I know at this stage in your life, uko confused and you’re still trying to understand who you are and what is your thing, but trust me, you’re on the right path. Usijidoubt. Choosing to do your thing will lead you to your destiny!

On school:

School is becoming difficult by the day, especially with all the changes that are going on in your life! Wah. You’ve just joined a school known for being for kids from wealthy families na that culture shock is real!!! It might be hard trying to figure yourself out right now but babe, take a deep breath and just do YOUR best. Not anyone else’s. God will take over the rest😊

On friends:

Girl! Friendship is a whole other world! You’ll meet friends who will come and go. Sometimes it may feel kidogo tempting to just follow what your friends are doing. Usicompromise your happiness so that you can fit in. Na don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t seem to “fit” in a certain group, they are probably not your crowd

On failure:

Babe, take the “L” as a Lesson️. Hard times haziko avoidable, so learn from your failures and improve yourself. For instance kama you didn’t get the role in the auditions, it’s ok kufeel sad. Lakini usi-give up. Those situations that seem like failures, are actually what will shape you to become the strong person that you will be in the future!

On boys:

I knooow! The feelings are there! Lol! But trust me, you might not end up marrying that ka-boy you’re obsessing over! Halafu jiulize, is he supporting you as you do your thing or is he distracting you? You know the answer babe. LOL! Choose you.

On peer pressure:

Peer pressure will always be there girl. Some days you might slip. But even though there are those days, jua you can always get back up. Don’t be afraid to say “no” to the things that you’re not comfortable with. It’s okay! You’re not missing out on anything!

On the future:

Your future is in your hands. Hata when things are tricky, you have what it takes to work on yourself. Trust yourself and do the things that make you happy! Work hard and smart! Prioritize yourself and your goals! It will not be in vain!️

And even when things get hard, imagine itapita. Cry if you need to, learn the lessons and keep shining your light! I love you beautiful!
