21st June 2022

Inafikia a point in our growth where our bodies start changing na tuna feel uncomfortable with all the changes going on. It becomes hard to be comfortable in your skin and understand what’s happening. Lucky for us, we have SKY Sistas who are here for us, to give us the tea on what’s going on with our bodies and how to love them. We are so beautiful! We deserve to feel like it…

GIVING FACE

One of the first things we might have to deal with is acne. Hizi ni pimples that start forming on the face and sometimes they leave behind marks like blackheads. Acne is so normal and is a part of growing up. Having it does not make us any less beautiful! Lakini, kuna ways unaweza manage acne like by practicing simple skincare kama ku-keep your face clean. Even then though, inaweza kua ngumu kutoa all of it. Spots ni normal kabisa. Ukifind you are feeling insecure kumbuka kila mtu ako na insecurities zake so most likely hawanotice.

BODY HAIR

Tena, kuna body hairs. Mostly found in the pubic area and armpits but it’s also very normal to find it on our legs, arms, stomach and back. Some people remove the hair by shaving, waxing or using hair removal cream. Lakini pia, kuna watu wenye wana amua not to remove the hair at all and that is okay. Si must utoe body hair.

BODY-ODY-ODY

We also start growing a bust and wider hips. More times than not, this comes with some weight gain. There is nothing wrong with gaining weight! Usi allow mtu akuambie otherwise. Some girls may not gain any weight at all, that’s okay too! Bodies zina come in many shapes and sizes. Sisi tunafaa kupenda the one we are in juu it’s the only one we’ve got.

AUNTIE FLO

Of course, one major change we get is our period that comes every month. Inaweza kumake ukuwe bloated so your stomach looks bigger. It brings pimples and can make you feel insecure because of mood changes. Itabidi you get used to your body feeling and looking different at around this time and it will get better. Drink a lot of water and eat healthy to help with the symptoms.

3 TIPS ON HOW TO LOVE IT ALL!

  1. One way to help gaining self-confidence inaitwa positive affirmations. This means kujiambia every day that you are a great person vile uko tu. You can write it in a journal or say it to yourself in the mirror, whatever works. It’s important to give yourself that love, inaku-kumbusha of your value and worth. Ukijipenda, no one can tell you anything to put you down.
  2. The other way that we can get more confidence is by taking care of our bodies vile tunaweza. Hakuna one way kuifanya by the way. Kama ni possible jaribu ku-shower once a day and to use a product that feels good. By the way, unajua SKY girls tume collaborate with Nice and Lovely to bring you our very own SKY girls lotion?! How cool is that? Ikona fragrance poa and it leaves your skin feeling soft and smelling good. Tuko na giveaway so check back page na unaweza win!
  3. Lastly, we take care of our bodies by doing physical activity like light walks and playing sports. Si ati unafaa kufanya workout routine kama hautaki. Just walking a bit every day and going for P.E. and games is enough. Taking care of our mental health by talking about our problems also helps our confidence and helps us to love ourselves.

Remember, it’s okay if we’re not confident every single day but tusisahau that our bodies are not only normal, but amazing! As long as we try and take care of ourselves and know that, tutakua tu sawa.
