What is SKY?

‘SKY Girls’ is a Pan African empowerment program for teenage girls with a presence in 6 African countries. It was founded in 2013 and launched in Kenya in August 2020 by Tandem, a Communications Agency based in Nairobi, Africa.

SKY Girls is a hugely successful and well-supported movement in Kenya since 2020; inspiring teen girls to stay true to their values and steer clear of vices. We give teenage girls a supportive community of peers to help them follow their passions and say no to the things they know they're good without. Through content based on the topics they love and by creating a community, SKY aims to increase their confidence, self-reflection, decision-making and refusal skills, so that they can make positive choices that are true to themselves.

The Event - SKY Fest 2025

SKY Fest 2025 is a full day fun fest for 6,000 SKY Girls from various parts of Nairobi. The event will be held at Kasarani Stadium Grounds and run from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm with different experiences that include selfie booths, fun games and activities, entertainment and interacting with their favourite influencers & other SKY girls. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the SKY movement and reinforce the confidence that the movement empowers girls with. The event will follow all the child safeguarding policies set by the company. Snacks and water will be provided.

Why are we collecting your data?

The data collected on this form will be collected to ensure that you are kept informed of the status of your child’s registration to the event as well as their entrance and departure from the event. We would also use the data to provide emergency services in case of any unforeseen circumstances

Consent for participation

I hereby consent to the participation of my daughter / ward in the activities of the day which include interactions with peers, influencers and the associates of SKY. That she can participate in interviews, the use of quotes, the taking of photographs, or and videos.

I also grant to the right to edit, use, and reuse said products resulting from the photo shoot, quote or interview and any reproductions or adaptations of the photograph(s)/video(s)/quote(s) in SKY GIRL KENYA social media pages and the SKY magazine.

I also hereby release SKY Girls Kenya and its agents, partners and employees from all claims, demands, and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the above. SKY Girls Kenya is also not liable or responsible for 3rd party usage of the aforementioned content. 

I understand that my daughter will take responsibility for her belongings. SKY Girls will bear no liability for any loss, damage, recovery cost or any other cost arising from the loss or damage of her belongings

As the legal parent or guardian, I understand that I am responsible for arranging my daughter's transport to and from the event venue. I acknowledge that SKY Girls Kenya, Tandem Digital Company Limited, and their affiliates do not assume any liability for my child while she is en route to or from the event.

Consent for use of personal data.

• Purpose of data collection: we collect your data to ensure that your child’s safety and experience is well managed at SKYFest 2025 as well as to notify of any updates with this or further SKY Girls events

• Use of Data: Your personal data will be used to notify you of your child's entrance and departure from the event, registration confirmation, and internal performance analysis purposes.
• Sharing of Data: Your data may be shared only with third parties that provide services that facilitate communication or emergency services. All data will be shared under strict data protection agreements.
• Data Retention: We will retain your data for a period of 5 years or as required by law.
• Your rights: Under the Kenya Data Protection Law and GDPR, you have the right to do the following: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request data deletion, object to data processing and withdraw consent. For any queries, please contact the above-mentioned Data Controller.
