SKY FLICKS: To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You

12th February 2021

For most of us SKY girls, movies are definitely our thing, but 2020 has kept us out of the cinemas :( Lakini, thankfully, we have streaming services like Netflix so we’ve been lucky enough to still enjoy some great flicks!

One of our absolute faves was the sequel to To All the Boys I've Loved Before. If you haven’t watched the first one, gosh sis, kwani where have you been? Lol. You are in luck though, because you can find both movies on Netflix.

In P.S. I Still Love You, we are reunited with Lara Jean Covey and the (very cute) Peter Kavinsky. The movie starts off where the first film ended: with Lara Jean and Peter as a couple. They're complete opposites but they're totally into each other, go on great dates and share many laughs. But can they rise above high-school dating issues?

We find the story super relatable because Lara is a teenage girl experiencing her first relationship. And not only that, she is conflicted by another love interest, John Ambrose, who also received one of the five love letters she sent in in part one. Who is the better guy for Lara Jean? Peter, the popular boyfriend or, John Ambrose, the guy she once had a crush on, who suddenly comes back into her life when everything is going perfectly well? Whew! The drama.

What we love about this movie is that it is a cute, unique high school love story which will give you all the feels, but also show how relationships are not just about ‘happily ever after’ all the time. As SKY girls, we are high-key all about being in a healthy relationship, where you can be honest and true to yourself, and this movie really shows how important that is. The movie also teaches how relationship drama is often caused by overthinking cause saa zingine, it just leads to misunderstandings.

We don’t want to give away too much of the story cause no one likes spoilers, but overall we found the movie to be really charming and heartfelt. Hopefully there will be a part 3? Let’s wait and see if Netflix will bless us.

We rate it an 8 out 10!

If you have already watched it, tell us what you thought about it on our SKY Girls KE IG page. We’d love to hear from you!
